How To Deal With Thermal Camera Lens "Fog" ?

2020-08-06 10:59

China belongs to monsoon climate, many areas often have rain and fog weather, especially in summer, the climate is humid, a lot of water vapor diffusion attached to the wall, equipment, etc., affect the normal use of electrical equipment. For example, infrared thermal imager is usually installed indoors or outdoors, and there is often a problem that the lens tends to fog and the surveillance picture cannot be seen clearly.

In fact, most of the "fogging" of infrared thermal camera is not water vapor, because the temperature of the LSD plate is higher than that of the general defogging device, and the water vapor has already been evaporated. This "fogging" should be the humidity inside the infrared thermal imager with the rapid rise of the temperature of the thermal imager, when the temperature difference between the infrared thermal imager and the outside, the "fogging" problem is the most serious.

1. The "Fog" Reason of Infrared Thermal Camera

1) Main board overheating: The main board has large current and unreasonable distribution of infrared lamps. The CCD white bottom floats upward and looks like it turns white and foggy. The main reason is that the waterproof is not good enough, coupled with the humidity of the air, the heat generated when the infrared lamp and CCD board work will lead to water mist.

2) Lens seal: The lens shading ring leaks light and does not close with the glass, and the infrared light is refracted into the lens.

3) Quality of components: the parameters of the machine board itself are wrong. If you change the ordinary machine board into a filter, you can directly use it, and you will be unable to see anything clearly at night.

2. The "Fog" Solutions of Infrared Thermal Camera

Normal infrared thermal camera may also "fog" at room temperature, we need to distinguish between internal and external reasons to take different solutions.

1) Fog appears inside the machine: the formation of fog and frost is due to the condensation of saturated steam in the air when it is cooled, and the condensation of frost and fog is due to the strong and weak cold environment. The infrared thermal imager installed in the room will often form fog or frost on the window glass of the protective cover due to indoor fog or water vapor and other reasons, resulting in the thermal imager cannot see objects, affecting the monitoring effect.

Different manufacturers have different solutions to this problem. The most basic is to strictly control the quality of materials and clean, try to put an end to the existence of volatiles, there are plenty of open air holes, nitrogen, fans, desiccant, different solutions to achieve the effect is not the same.

2) Frost and fog appear outside the machine: the infrared thermal imager works in a high humidity environment. Dust and other dirt are likely to appear in the window glass of the protective cover, causing the lens line of sight of the thermal imager to be blocked.

Solution: Add wipers to the shield and clean the glass with wipers; To increase the sealing of thermal imager, the protective cover must be rainproof, waterproof, dustproof and other functions.
