Kiln is an equipment for smelting, roasting, sintering, melting and heating materials or workpieces by using fuel or electric energy to generate heat in industrial production. It is generally built with refractory materials. In industrial production, kilns and many equipment in kilns are often in the state of high temperature, high pressure and high speed operation. Real-time monitoring of the temperature of kilns and equipment is an important means to reduce the incidence of failures and improve productivity.

Any object whose temperature is higher than absolute zero will emit infrared ray. Infrared ray is a kind of electromagnetic wave. Infrared thermal camera forms infrared image by passively receiving the infrared ray from the object. When there are defects in the refractory materials or equipment in the kiln, the infrared thermal image will show different colors and the temperature is obviously different from the surrounding temperature.

 

Infrared thermal camera can real-time monitor the kiln temperature, firebrick, and equipment, through the background software for temperature analysis, through the temperature trend judge whether need to take preventive maintenance operations, can also set the alarm temperature by the software, when the monitor area temperature is higher than the alarm value set, will sound an alarm, to remind staff to take corresponding measures.

 

In the parts where there is no cooler, the defects of no lining can be directly judged by the different changes of furnace skin surface. If the heat map taken at a certain location compares with the normal temperature rise, the furnace lining can be determined to have been damaged and eroded; For the parts with cooler, the surface temperature distribution can be analyzed according to the thermal image to find out the parts with higher relative temperature, and judge the damage of cooling wall or furnace lining, so as to achieve the purpose of testing kiln.

 

With the maturity of infrared thermal imaging technology and the popularization of infrared thermal camera, infrared thermal camera plays a more and more important role in kiln detection and energy consumption reduction.
