What Are the Detection Range and Area of Thermal Camera?

2020-09-02 09:52

In the technical parameters of infrared thermal camera, we can often see the technical parameters table or product manual above the detection, recognition, identification of the maximum distance and the minimum monitoring area. Now let's have a detailed understanding of the significance of these parameters.

Detection Distance specifically refers to the maximum critical point that can clearly distinguish the target from the background and some noticeable targets.

Recognition Distance specifically refers to the distance that can roughly distinguish the type of target under test: if it is a vehicle or a ship;

Identification Distance refers to the subdivision based on the classification. Is it a vehicle or a tank?

Minimum Monitoring Area: The specific minimum monitoring area size of our infrared thermal camera is 3*3 pixels. (Of course, if the temperature measurement needs to be accurate, the more pixels, the better) Usually in forest fire prevention projects, the customer is more concerned about the minimum monitoring fire area, which is often written in the bidding parameters. At present, the minimum monitoring fire area of our company is calculated by 3*3 pixels, which will vary according to the focal length of the lens used.

The specific detection, recognition and identification distances of our infrared thermal camera are shown in the table below.
